Mama Mina | Nicaragua
A heavy, syrupy tribute to a century of Nicaraguan heritage. This Mierisch family classic balances deep molasses sweetness with a crisp apple brightness, refined for the modern espresso palate.
The Story
MAMA MINA is a tribute to the enduring legacy of the Mierisch family, who have been cultivating coffee in Nicaragua since 1908. This lot, sourced from the high-altitude cloud forests of Jinotega, represents the intersection of century-old tradition and modern sustainable innovation. We’ve roasted this selection to honor the 3rd and 5th generation producers who continue to redefine Nicaraguan specialty coffee through meticulous experimental fermentation and a commitment to their local ecosystem.

The Ritual
MAMA MINA is at its best when extracted as a dense, syrupy espresso. The concentrated pressure iLLUMinates a heavy mouthfeel where the brown sugar and dark chocolate notes merge into a rich, velvety profile. It serves as a resilient and sweet foundation for milk-based drinks, transforming into a creamy, toasted-caramel character when poured as a flat white or cortado.
