A shimmering, high-clarity benchmark of Kenyan specialty coffee. Sourced from the volcanic slopes of Nyeri, this washed lot delivers a vibrant acidity and a crystalline sweetness that defines the classic East African profile.

The Story

Emerging from the heart of Nyeri County, the THIRIKU Farmers Co-operative Society has become a symbol of resilience and uncompromising quality. Since its establishment as a single-mill society in 2000, Thiriku has utilized the rich volcanic soil of the Aberdare mountain range to produce some of the region's most expressive coffees. By focusing on meticulous sun-drying and water-efficient wet-milling, the cooperative ensures that every bean reflects the pure, high-altitude terroir of central Kenya.

The Ritual

THIRIKU is designed specifically for filter brewing (V60, Chemex, or Kalita). The high-altitude density of these beans thrives with a precise extraction that iLLUMinates its complex acids. We recommend a 1:16 brew ratio with a slightly higher water temperature (94°C+) to fully unlock the shimmering stone fruit notes and the transparent floral finish that makes Nyeri coffees world-renowned.
