Kaffa Coco | Ethiopia
This coffee reveals a deep, velvety body defined by layers of dark chocolate and sun-dried fruit. Sourced from the heirloom forests of Ethiopia, it remains an honest and grounded expression of its origin—crafted to maintain clarity whether extracted as a complex, syrupy espresso or a creamy, malt-like milk drink.
The Story
KAFFA COCO is sourced from the ancient forests of the Djimmah region in Ethiopia, often considered the genetic home of Arabica coffee. This lot represents the "Kaffa" heritage—a terroir where coffee still grows in its most natural state. At LUUM, we have selected this specific preparation to highlight the traditional Ethiopian natural process, which focuses on slow sun-drying to concentrate sugars and develop a rustic, chocolate-forward complexity that is distinct from the more floral highland regions.
The Profile
A rich and earthy cup that prioritizes body and sweetness. KAFFA COCO moves away from the tea-like clarity of other Ethiopian regions, offering instead a weighted, "cocoa-dusted" experience with a subtle fruit-driven lift.

The Ritual
KAFFA COCO is a versatile selection that thrives in multiple formats. As an espresso, it produces a thick, tiger-striped crema with a heavy chocolate base. When enjoyed as a pour-over or Aeropress, its rustic fruit notes become more apparent, offering a nostalgic and comforting cup. Its dense profile also makes it an excellent choice for a rich, syrupy Cold Brew that naturally tastes like liquid chocolate.
