Rwenzori | Uganda
A sun-drenched, high-altitude natural from the "Mountains of the Moon." This Special Prep lot captures the peak of Ugandan coffee, delivering a dense, syrupy body with a complex profile of stone fruit and warm caramel.
The Story
Grown on the lush, mist-covered slopes of the RWENZORI range, spanning the regions of Kasese and Fort Portal, this coffee is a testament to the heights Ugandan specialty coffee can reach. Sourced at elevations up to 1,900 meters, these SL.14 and SL.28 varieties mature slowly, allowing for a remarkable concentration of sugars. This "Special Prep" lot undergoes a meticulous natural process, where the cherries are sun-dried with extreme care to ensure the "DXB" standard of cleanliness and flavor intensity that LUUM stands for.

The Ritual
RWENZORI is a versatile powerhouse that rewards precision. It shines as a complex pour-over, where a 1:15 ratio allows the plum acidity and tropical notes to pop with clarity. However, its high density and sugar content also make it a spectacular candidate for modern espresso; the heavy caramel base provides a rich, syrupy mouthfeel that cuts through milk beautifully, making it an ideal choice for a sophisticated morning latte or flat white.
